Syslog tuning tips

There are syslog tuning parameters describing how frequently the syslog daemon flushes to disk. The more infrequently this occurs, the larger the pending buffered backlogs - and subsequently, when it does write, that can result in an IO spike. Recommendation to keep this interval reasonably small.
